Consolation prize
One of Taiwan's more famous tv personalities is in deep shit. He has had blackmailers (yes, in the plural) on his back for about a year, holding a CD with him mastur... sorry, performing an act of self consolation is how he prefers to describe it, stressing that it is not a sex video.
Rumors say that he has paid a total of NT$30 million to get this thing to go away. According to a report in the Liberty Times (same owner as the Taipei Times, where I work), he said that he paid up because he is married, and that the short movie is really ugly: "It looks like a fat pig lying there jerking off. It's extremely humiliating, and if it got out, I'd be destroyed."
Anyway, he paid up, got the CD, destroyed it. Two or three months afterwards -- surprise, surprise -- someone else calls demanding money to send him the CD. This happens six times over the next year, and he is now out of money, which is why he decided to go public -- threatening to make the story public is no longer a reason for blackmailing him. I guess maybe the first blackmailer decided not to destroy the original on his computer, after all. What I'd like to know is how they got their hands on the video, since the blackmailee says it looks like it's taken in "a home."
Other than seeing that from the film, he says he remembers absolutely nothing about the circumstances in which the film was taken. After all, he'd started taking a rape drug called FM2 because he had problems sleeping. After taking the drug, he would make random phone calls, send mobile text messages and quarrel with people, remembering nothing afterwards. To further explain the situation, he said that although he always has been something of a womanizer, he is definitely not a lecher. He has even liked girls ever since he was a young boy, no less.
