Cultural differences
Today, for some reason, I remembered this drunk guy in his fifties or something, who decided he needed to talk to me at some wedding here in Taiwan. He came up and started talking about the differences between Chinese and Western culture, and eventually got to his point, which was to tell me that he found it really strange that we write the number "2" backwards in the west. There was no convincing him otherwise, and I eventually had to make some sweeping agreement like "Yeah, it's amazing how even the smallest things differ between cultures."
